The employment rate tells us what percentage of the population or a specific population group is currently employed subject to social insurance contributions. Full-time and part-time employees are also counted, as well as those on parental leave at the time of the survey, for example. In accordance with the international definition of the employment rate, persons who have worked at least one hour in the week preceding the calculation period are also included in the employment rate. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development reports employment rates for all member countries in a time series on the Internet.
